Welcome to Moore Statistics Consulting LLC

When it comes to probability and statistics, you will always come across the rolling of a die or the picking of a playing card out of deck. And the reason why authors include a real world approach, something you can visualize, is to make a connection. The purpose of an every day example is to help you associate what you are reading with something that is tangible. But people struggle with the concept because it’s not intuitive enough. If i were to ask you for the probability of choosing a card- you draw a blank. Because you are not being prompted to think statistically, tie it to a fraction. Your numerator is always the event in question and your denominator is every single entity in the deck. Think about the denominator. Once you know your denominator, the rest is easier to visualize.
