Welcome to Moore Statistics Consulting LLC

We have so many statistical packages out here in data analytics land. Software packages have its strengths and weaknesses. For instance, STATA is great for a quick and dirty analysis. The commands are short and to the point, and you can become quite comfortable using it. However, it costs money. R software is can give you beautiful graphs (effortlessly) and it is free. The R software is accessible and flexible enough to give you the same statistics you could generate with SPSS (another tool). However, R is an acquired taste and you need to dedicate time to master it. There is no such thing as an intermediate R programmer. You either know R or you do not- my opinion.

Now I prefer SAS software because it agrees with the way my brain processes data. I like to see the data management aspect of each procedure along the way. SAS software cost roughly 2,000 to 8000 dollars a user. However, there is a version of SAS that is open to the general public. If you register for it, you can self-study or work with a group. The language itself is very specific. Yet once you know it, you can upload any external file (SPSS, EXCEL, TXT,DAT etc.) for analysis.

For more information, I will be hosting a free webinar this Sunday at 6pm. Information is as follows:

This webinar is for people who would like to learn how to access a free version of SAS on Demand. It helps to know the language, but I will show you a few basic commands to work with the data.

(you will need a microphone/headset for the meeting)
